Tuesday December 28, 2010-The first Xmas

Hello faithful reader.

Another Christmas has come and gone, but for us a small twist this year. Our daughter and her husband hosted their first Christmas dinner this year, and it went very well. A 25lb turkey was not really needed, but you live and learn right.
Dinner was fantastic, as were Erin's pasteries.

Last weekend I had the pleasure of doing an informal digital camera demo for two Ladies with new Canon cameras.
After the lesson, we walked around the farm to try out their new found skills.

Tuesday November 2, 2010-I have a son in law.

Well Saturday October 30, 2010 was a big day at our house. Our daughter was married. The ceremony was wonderful and the reception went off quite well.
Stress level is back to normal +1.

Its starting to get more like fall around the casa lately, but the birds in the backyard are still here.

The top flying shot had rear curtain sync flash to see what it would do with blur etc.

August 31, 2010- My big fat tomato

Hello faithful reader.

Back in the spring, a company from Ontario advertised a tomatoe plant that would grow 6-8 feet and produce 3 pound fruits.
So....... i bought a package. Three pre packed peat pots arrived and i started two of them. About 5-6 plants grew, and as they matured a bit transplanted them to various mediums, outdoor pots, the veggie garden etc.
None have grown to claim, one is 4' and a bit with average size fruits and one made it to 2 1/2 feet, planted in the veggie garden and has the biggest fruit. Not sure of the weight, but it measures 15" circumference. Looks big anyway.
None have ripened and i'm afraid they may not as fall is approaching and all of my regular tomatos are ripening.

The three peat packs were $15.00 and the shipping was $14.00. What a rip that was, but i figured as much.

Anyway, here is a picture of the big fruit.
